Nuneaton Junior Swimming League - FINAL
Northgate swimmers put in an incredible performance in this final of the Nuneaton Junior Swimming League. It was such an exciting event for all and the team spirit was really strong.
All swimmers did exceptionally well obtaining 11 first places, 9 seconds and 8 thirds out of the 51 events.
Outstanding performances brought us 5 championship records out of the total 11 records recorded on the day. No other club scored more than 2 records.
The record breaking performances were:-
Aaran Darley, Jack Sanders, Zac Xiourouppa, Matthew Griffiths 9yrs 4x1 Medley
Christina Jones 9yrs 25m Breaststroke & Butterfly
Zach Xiourouppa 9yrs 25m Butterfly
Georgia, Christina, Lydia, Jade Goodall 8x Freestyle Relay Phillipa, Harriet, Jade Evans & Chloe
It was an extremely close fought event but the final scores gave Northgate equal third place on the day but overall we finished in fifth place.
Well done to everyone who swam – the hard work over the last few weeks really paid off.
A special thanks to Keith and the coaching team and all those working poolside throughout the season, and not to leave out Miss Motivator – Lucy.

Bryan & Knott Trophy Gala - 14/07/07
The gala this year consisted of only 3 scoring teams following the late withdrawal of Shrewsbury SC. Northgate filled the vacant lane with a non-scoring team to give extra gala experience. The team from Bilston proved to be formidable with a total of some 30 first places out of the 42 events. The Northgate team however put in some excellent performances to come in second with wins in the following:-
Girls 14/u 50m Breast stroke Girls Open 50m Breast stroke Girls & Boys 14/u 50 Free style Girls & Boys 14/u Medley Relay Boys 10/u 50 Free style
The final 2 races of the evening, the girls & boys 8X cannon events, were both really exciting. Firstly the girls, showing their huge strength, made a very convincing win and, more significantly, the non-scoring team also finished ahead of both Bilston and Wolverhampton. The boys event was much more closely fought but Northgate came out victors in this race also.
Congratulations to all who swam and a special well done to those organising and officiating as the evening passed by like clockwork without any obvious hitch or delay.
