Northgate Swimming Club is a Charity that depends on the contributions of time from people to make the club work. Most of those involved in the club started by sitting on the balcony, watching their children swim up and down the pool.
We are always looking for new people to help out, either through the committee or through support on the poolside. Chat to the poolside staff who will be more than willing to point you in the right direction.
To run galas we need a team of poolside helpers. One of the key roles is that of Team Managers and to get an idea of what this involves, Swim England have a series of short Team Manager Courses, which will allow you to support our swimmers at key events on poolside. This course is free.
Do keep an eye out for dates as they are full at the moment but other dates will be added.
Another option is to support in the teaching and coaching side – note you do not need to be an expert swimmer to help out. These teacher courses will help you on your way. Grants may be available for these.
You start off with either level 1 Swim Teaching of Level 1 Coaching

Another way to get involved is to help out as an official at a gala. The first step is to be a time keeper. Free Courses are available here which involve a short online training event and a practical assessment at a licensed gala:
